Paediatric cardiology consultations at Il Cuore di San Benedetto are led by a highly distinguished professional: Dr Roberto Tumbarello, paediatric and adult cardiologist with over thirty years of hospital experience and international recognition.
Since 1998, he has served as Director of Paediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease at ARNAS G. Brotzu Hospital in Cagliari.
He has participated in scientific research projects funded by the Regione Sardegna. He has also been involved in academic teaching and training at the University of Cagliari’s Faculty of Medicine. Over the course of his career, he has performed more than 5,000 cardiac catheterisations, many of them interventional procedures for congenital heart disease.
He has participated in more than 20 international humanitarian missions in high-risk areas, treating children in critical condition, and has received awards for the humanisation of care, including the Alesini Award and the Alziator Award for Medicine. His presence is a distinctive asset for the entire centre.

Comprehensive paediatric cardiology consultation
The paediatric cardiology visit (Electrocardiogram – ECG and Colour Doppler Echocardiography), lasting approximately 30–45 minutes, is conducted in a welcoming environment designed to reduce stress for young patients and provide peace of mind for parents.
